Story Time @ the Park!
For all of April and May, 2022 we are bringing back in-person Story Time! Join us at Morrow’s Meadow every Wednesday and Thursday for Story Time fun! Read more below to see how each Story Time is tailored to your child’s age.
Masks are encouraged, but not required. We will be practicing social distancing. If an event must be cancelled due to weather, we will make an announcement on Facebook and Twitter. Virtual Story Time will still be available.

Tiny Tots
This is a Story Time for our youngest patrons! Tiny Tots is designed for babies and children up to 36 months.
There will be stories, songs, bubbles, and more!
Tiny Tots lasts about as long as their attention span–20 to 30 minutes.
Tiny Tots meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 am at Morrow’s Meadow. Begins April 6, 2022.
Virtual Story Time
We are so excited to now offer Virtual Story Time! It’s all the Story Time elements you love–songs, stories, and crafts–from the comfort and safety of your home. If you want to follow along with the craft at home, be sure to pick up a Take & Make Craft Bag from the Children’s Department!

Children’s Take & Make Story Time Crafts
As we enter the cold weather months, Story Time is virtual until it is safe to gather inside. If you want to follow along with Alisha’s Craft Corner, be sure to grab a Take & Make craft bag!
These bags contain everything you’ll need to create that week’s craft with your little ones. Check out a book and grab a bag for all the Story Time fun at home. There will be a new craft every week!
1,000 Books before Kindergarten

1,000 Books before Kindergarten is an early literacy program that gives children a head start by already having 1,000 books under their belt when they start kindergarten! This program rewards early readers with small prizes along the way. See our children’s librarian to sign up and start logging the books you read with your child today!
Already participating in 1,000 Books? Check out the new app!
Now it’s easier than ever to log the books you read with your child! Instead of keeping track of paper log sheets, you can document your progress in the app and just show it to the children’s librarian! Get more info here.
AWE Learning Computers
Our children’s department has two AWE Learning computers available for public use. These workstations are made just for kids and contain award-winning interactive early literacy and STEM/STREAM-aligned content. The computers are touchscreen but are also equipped with kid-sized keyboards.
AWE Learning computers and content are KidSafe seal certified and don’t access the internet, so you can feel secure knowing that your child is learning in a fun and safe environment. Be sure to check these stations out the next time you’re in the library! For more information about AWE Learning, head here.
The Smithsonian has collected more than 142 million objects. From rocks to rockets, from baseball cards to brontosaurus bones, there’s something for everyone at the Smithsonian.
