Summer Reading Starts June 5!
Are you ready to read great stories and earn great prizes? It’s the best time of the year! This year’s Summer Reading theme is All Together Now. As always, we have a unique program for every age group. Beginning June 5, you may register online or at the library.

Adult Summer Reading Program
The Adult Summer Reading Program is open to any patron 18 and older.
Here’s how it works:
- For every book you read, you’ll fill out a short book review/recommendation sheet.
- Sheets will be available in-person and online. We ask that you only use one method to submit your sheets.
- You will receive one ticket for each of these sheets you submit.
- We will compile the tickets into weekly prize drawings.
- At the end of the program, we will compile ALL the tickets from every week into the grand prize drawing!
Weekly Prizes & Ticket Drawing Schedule
This year’s weekly prizes include t-shirts, book bags, gift cards, books, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, and an Amazon Echo Dot. The weekly drawings are as follows*:
- First Weekly Drawing: June 9, 12:00 pm
- Second Weekly Drawing: June 16, 12:00 pm
- Third Weekly Drawing: June 23, 12:00 pm
- Fourth Weekly Drawing: June 30, 12:00 pm
*Please note: You do not have to be present to win. All winners will be notified via phone or email after the drawings have occurred.

Grand Prize Drawing: July 14, 12:00 pm
This year’s grand prize is a $100 Meijer Gift Card!

Teen Summer Reading Program
The Teen Summer Reading Program is open to students entering 6th grade through 17 years of age.
Here’s how it works:
- For every book you read, you will be asked to fill out a short review sheet.
- Sheets will be available in-person and online. We ask that you only use one method to submit your sheets.
- You will receive one ticket for each of these sheets you submit.
- We will compile the tickets into weekly prize drawings.
- At the end of the program, we will compile ALL the tickets from every week into the Grand Prize drawing!
Weekly Prizes & Ticket Drawing Schedule
This year’s weekly prizes include t-shirts, grab bags, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, book sets, Laser Flash passes, Big Splash Adventure tickets, and Indianapolis Indians tickets. The weekly drawings are as follows*:
- First Weekly Drawing: June 9, 12:00 pm
- Second Weekly Drawing: June 16, 12:00 pm
- Third Weekly Drawing: June 23, 12:00 pm
- Fourth Weekly Drawing: June 30, 12:00 pm

Tiger Summer Reading Program
The Tiger Summer Reading Program is open to kids aged K-5th grade.
Here’s how it works:
- Log the hours you spend reading and earn prizes!
- Logs will be available in person or online. We ask that you only use one method to log your hours.
- Reading logs may be turned in any day of the week.
- The program is broken into 4 phases. For each phase completed, your child will get to choose one prize. Once phase 4 is completed, only Super Reader tickets will be given.
- Phase 1: 5 hours read = Food Coupon
- Phase 2: 10 hours read = Book
- Phase 3: 15 hours read = Toy
- Phase 4: 20 hours read = T-shirt & Super Reader entry
- For every 20 hours you log, you will earn one ticket in the Super Reader Drawing. That means that the more you read, the better your chances are of winning!

Super Reader Prize Drawing: July 12
This year’s Super Reader Prize is a KiwiCo Crate subscription!
All reading logs must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, July 12 to be counted toward the Super Reader Prize. You do not have to be present to win.

Cub Summer Reading Program
The Cub Summer Reading Program is open to ages birth-school age (5-6 years old).
Here’s how it works:
- In this program for our youngest patrons, you may count the hours that you read to your child and/or the hours they read on their own.
- Reading logs may be submitted any day of the week.
- You can submit these logs in person or online. We ask that you only use one method of logging hours.
- The program is broken into 4 phases. For each phase completed, your child will get to choose one prize. Once phase 4 is completed, only Super Reader tickets will be given.
- Phase 1: 2 hours read = Food Coupon
- Phase 2: 4 hours read = Book
- Phase 3: 6 hours read = Toy
- Phase 4: 8 hours read = T-shirt & Super Reader entry
- For every 8 hours read your child will be entered in the Super Reader Drawing.

Super Reader Prize Drawing: July 12
This year’s Super Reader Prize is a KiwiCo Crate subscription!

Event Schedule
Every Wednesday during the Summer Reading Program, we offer free family entertainment!
Shows take place at 2:00 pm at Morrow’s Meadow or Pleasant View Elementary School Gym.
In the event of rain, events at Morrow’s Meadow will be moved to the PVE gym.
Seating will be limited. Please bring chairs or blankets for a more comfortable show.
Our most popular Summer Reading event is back again this year! You’ll get to see wild animals up close while you learn about what makes them special.

2:00 pm @ PVE Gym
A humorous, high energy concert that entertains, educates, and empowers all little rockers. Get ready to sing along to familiar hits and some movin’ and groovin’ original songs!
Wednesday, June 28
2:00 pm @ Morrow’s Meadow
Our grand finale of the Summer Reading Program is The Water Show! Combining magic tricks and water, this show is always a favorite. Dress to get wet!

FAQ
No! Anyone may participate. However, if you would like to get a library card, you can sign up in person or online.
Do I have to read only books from the library?
While we would love for you to check out books from the library, it is not a requirement for the Summer Reading Program!
Do audiobooks count?
Yes! For the adult and teen programs, just review the audiobook on your review sheet. For the children’s programs, just log the hours spent listening.
Do I have to submit my review sheets and/or reading logs in person?
You can submit your reviews and/or reading logs in person or online. However, we do ask that you stick to one method of submission.
Do I have to be present to win a prize?
No. All winners will be notified via phone or email after the drawings have occurred.
What is the deadline for registering?
There is no deadline for registering. You may sign up as late into the program as you want. However, the earlier you sign up and begin turning in review sheets and/or reading logs, the better your chances are of winning one of the Grand/Super Reader prizes.
